Welcome to the Josh McDowell Ministry Traveling Assistant information page. Thank you so much for your interest in this position and helping Josh reach young people for Christ. We need to get serious about helping youth develop convictions that affect their actions and impact their peers for Christ. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of one of the most dynamic and successful youth ministries in history. The Traveling Assistant Internship gives you the chance to experience full time ministry and the unique challenges and benefits that it provides.
As a Traveling Assistant, you'll be intensely connected to the daily activities of the ministry and get to see first-hand what goes on in a Christian organization specifically geared to meet the needs of high school and junior high students. You'll also have the chance to travel around the country and participate in executing various events where literally hundreds of lives will be changed. This internship will teach you valuable and necessary skills that will serve you well for the rest of your life. You'll have the opportunity to learn important organizational skills, expand your time management abilities, and develop proficiency in computer software like Power Point.
Flexibility is a must in this position and solid communication skills are of great importance - both of these traits will be built into you during your time with Josh McDowell Ministry. Through your contribution to the team, you'll be helping Josh be as effective as possible by freeing him from the burden of many administrative tasks. Through these efforts, he is able to focus on speaking and ministering to young people even more effectively. While this internship doesn't provide an opportunity for you to speak to groups, you can learn important speaking skills through observation. Because of our belief that high standards of integrity are absolutely vital to the long term success and influence of any ministry, and because this position is likely to involve many long days in very close quarters (possibly on a tour bus), all Traveling Assistants must be male, over the age of 21, and not married.
